This artwork beautifully captures a serene and atmospheric landscape, characteristic of a quiet, crisp morning, on the Hāwea Flat, New Zealand.

The immediate foreground is delicately rendered with clumps of frost-kissed grass, each frond sharply defined by a crystalline layer, lending a tactile, almost brittle texture to the scene. This frosted detail draws the eye in before it sweeps across an expansive, flat field of muted green that forms the middle ground.

This was a common scene in the place where I grew up - Ngatea
